This service is a partnership between EnhanceAble, Royal Borough of Kingston and the Kingston Primary Care Trust. We are able to offer local parents, carers and young people up to date advice on a wide range of issues. We can also help with benefits claims and liaison with professionals.

The Parent Partnership Officer is located within this service. Their job is to support parents of a disabled child through the statementing and placement processes and actively seek solutions with the parents, schools and local authority.

The Aiming High For Disabled Children Parents Consultation Day 07.02.09

We had successfully bid for some money from "Together for Disabled Children" to fund the parental consultation element of Kingston’s “Aiming High for Disabled Children Agenda” (AHDC)

AHDC is a government initiative that is providing much needed new money to develop services for disabled children and young people. The aim is to provide more opportunities for them to access leisure activities and short breaks.

On February the 7th Geneva Road Centre was buzzing with parents who came to the event. The parents and carers elected to join different workshops to discuss different topics. Childcare, short breaks, play and leisure, accessing the community, meetings and reviews, therapies and equipment, working with schools and after school activities

The feedback was wonderful and informative. We have written a report on the day with great deal of help and support from facilitators from the day.
