At the grand old age of 102

Tuesday 23rd January was a very sad day for us at EnhanceAble. We said goodbye to our wonderful President, Dr Norman Burman, who sadly passed away at the grand old age of 102.

It is an incredible achievement, to help to set up and run a charity. It takes vision and a great deal of hard work, determination and persistence. Everyone at EnhanceAble is very proud of Dr Norman’s achievements as our Chairman and President for over 63 years.  Thanks to Norman and his fellow founding members we have the EnhanceAble we have today, a thriving charity that has supported 100’s of people, and continues to support 100’s of people, young and not so young. A hugely intelligent, passionate and generous man, Norman’s legacy truly outshines the physical – his legacy is the vision, the example and the inspiration that he leaves with us, the EnhanceAble family of volunteers, staff and service users.

Norman was a founding father of our charity, and also a gentleman, in the true meaning of the word. In the words of our current Chairman, Nick Ainley, Norman truly was a man who left the world a better place than he found it.
